Business Letter 2 Job/College Choose a career that you are interested in. Think of a person you know that is currently active in this occupation. Design a block style business letter to this person to find out the following information about the career: 1. What education do I need for this career. 2. What are the Pros and Cons of this occupation? 3. If you had to choose a career again, would you choose to do this? 4. What type of salary can one expect to make in this occupation? What is the log term outlook for this profession? In other words, will there be a job available if I choose this field? 5. Are there any classes I might take in high school that would help me get started in the right direction. Save this as Business Letter 2. Be sure to use your template to eliminate spacing errors. Please sign your letter. College Letter-- Now write a letter to a college of your choice. This is also a block style business letter. Request information about the education program that fits the career you are interested in. For example, if you wrote to a veterinarian, request information from a university about their animal science program, etc... |

MEMO Template |
MEM0_Template.doc (673.5 Kb) Create a memo template. This will serve as a template one can use for the remaining memo assignments. Be sure to look at the attached document as it tells the correct formatting procedures for the memo. Use File-Page setup to st up the margins. Use Format-Tabs- and set the default to 1.25". Finally, be sure to put the title of the memo in a header. View-Headers and Footers, Custom Header. Save this as MEMO Template and us it for writing memo in the future. |

Memorandum #1 |
Using your template, write a memo to Mrs. Ryff about hosting a Mid Winter Festival. This would be very similar to Homecoming, only it takes place in the winter! Your date would be today's date. The subject would be Mid Winter Festival. The memo title would be Mid Winter Festival Memorandum (this goes in the header). The memo must include: activities for each day of the week, the dates of the Festival, etc. You may include things like dress up days, pep assemblies, coronation activities, and anything else you feel necessary. Since you are writing the memo, you will not need to put your initials at the end of the memo. Please print the memo and turn in to me.Be sure to use the save as option to save the memo as MEMO #1, this will allow for you to maintain your template. |

Memo Assessment |
Directions: Format and key the following memorandum in memo format. The memo is to be sent to James K. Powell, Human Resources Manager. It is from Donna Orton, Corporate Legal Counselor, regarding the absentee policy. The letter (P) indicates the beginning of a new paragraph. Double space the table. Tables |
Using Word, create a table that shows your schedule for a typical week. This would be your class schedule and any extra curricular activities. To simplify the the table make it for a B day. Give your schedule a name. You may make it anyway you wish as lon as it shows all seven days. Format the table to include borders and shading or you can use Auto format. Put the table in landscape format (File-Page Setup-Paper Size Tab-Landscape)..

25 Life Lessons |
1. Open a new page. 2. GO to View- Choose Header and Footer. 3. Put your name, class name and class period in the header. 4. In the footer, include the date and the page number. 5. Create a list of 25 life instructions/saying/quotes. Insert a symbol or clip art before each instruction, these must relate to the instruction. 6. Your font size and color are your choice. 7. Title your page, and be sure it is no more than 2 pages. 8. Print it and turn it in. Examples: Never Pet Mean Dogs. Always be nice to your family. |

Design a Web Page in Word |
Using Word design or invent a product. Then design a web page to advertise and sell your product. You need to use a color background, include hyperlinks, include pictures and/or clip art, and create an email link for people to inquire about the product. Using tables will help you organize the web page. Be sure to include price of the product, shipping times, and availability. Make up some type of ratings for your product, it could be consumer report recommended, a five star product etc.... Make sure the page is well organized. If you were interested in the product, would the web page persuade you or appeal to you and as result sell you the product? |
